Question No. 21 1 min read

Should I get an area rug instead of wall-to-wall carpet?

An area rug is the right call when you want flexibility, easy swap-outs, or to protect a hardwood floor. Wall-to-wall is the right call when you want full coverage, warmth, sound dampening, and a finished look from baseboard to baseboard.

Pick a rug when:

  • The hard floor underneath is in good shape and you would rather show it
  • You move often and want to take the floor with you
  • You want to redecorate every few years
  • Only the centre of the room needs softening

Pick wall-to-wall when:

  • The full floor needs replacing anyway
  • Bedrooms, basements, or stairs are in scope
  • You want consistent warmth and noise reduction

Not sure? We quote both side by side at the on-site visit.
