Question No. 12
What is the best color for carpet?
Mid-tone neutrals (greige, taupe, soft charcoal) are the safest pick. They hide dirt and pet hair, work with most paint, and do not date as fast as trend colours.
Match colour to the room's job:
- High-traffic areas and stairs: greige, taupe, charcoal flecks
- Bedrooms: lighter cream, oat, soft grey for a calmer feel
- Basements and rec rooms: darker charcoal or patterned loop hides spills
- Pet households: textured patterns or flecked Berber over solid colours
Light solids look great on day one but show every footprint by year three.
